Mobile Waste Treatment Plant

The MTP was designed and built specifically for the Dolocrete® process. The plant has the ability to treat waste on-site, therefore eliminating the need to transport hazardous waste to an intermediate treatment location. The process is carried out without major energy inputs and with relatively low capital requirements. The MTP is licensed by the New South Wales Department of Environment and Conservation.

The plant consists of, amongst other associated equipment, a 6 cubic metre agitator on weigh cells, a sludge pump, two separate weigh hoppers, one for the waste material and a separate hopper for the Dolocrete® reagents. It is driven by either electrical power or a diesel generator. The MTP is engineered and contained on a 14 meter low loader trailer and is moved to the site by a prime mover. It is also equipped with its own water supply.

On arrival at the facility, the MTP will be set up by trained operators. Entech Industries will supply Dolocrete® materials and reagents to the treatment site, together with skilled labour and expertise as required. Material safety Data Sheets (MSDS) covering the Dolocrete® and reagents will be provided and incorporated into an OH&S Plan that will be followed by site workers. After treatment, disposal of the treated waste can be effected on-site where appropriate, or transported as a safe and stable material to approved landfill sites.


Conventional Mixing Equipment

A major portion of waste treated to date has been readily encapsulated by simply placing waste into an agitator (screw auger, paddle mixer, mixer extruder, ribbon mixer or pug mill etc), adding water and pre-blended Dolocrete®. The resultant thick paste is then transferred into containers (drums, bulker bags etc) and allowed to cure. Typically after 14 days, the encapsulated waste satisfies the Toxicity Characteristic Leachate Procedure, Multiple Extraction Procedure and strength requirements.
